Do you know anybody in Sitka who is a good example of an individual or group providing outdoor programming for Sitka residents, especially children and families?
If so, the Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) wants to know more so we can possibly feature them on our site. We’re looking for good examples of outdoor programming, such as the scout leader who gets the troop outdoors for various activities, a teacher who takes her science classes outdoors for nature hikes and similar field trips or your neighbor who built a sled run and collected sleds for kids and adults to use (like Tom Ulricksen did in the Daily Sitka Sentinel photo above).
If you think you have a good example of people providing outdoor programs, especially those tailored for kids or families, send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let us know what type of outdoor programming is being provided, how many people participate, the age range of the participants, the cost of the programming, etc. If you have access to photos, let us know.
If we agree that it’s a good example of ways people can provide outdoor programming in Sitka, we’ll feature the story on the site. Thanks.
