The next meeting of the Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at the Blatchley Middle School library (note, this is a one-time change of location from our regular meeting site). Please mark the time on your calendar and bring a friend.

Agenda items for the meeting include going over the results of our outdoor programming survey, discussing the recently released Sitka Sustainable Outdoor Recreation Action Plan (including parts we contributed about programs), discussing a “Have you been outdoors today? Get Out, Sitka!” media campaign, discussing a couple of new groups in Sitka that plan to offer outdoor programming, and more.

The Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) started as a community project from the 2010 Sitka Health Summit in October. Our mission is to encourage more Sitka residents to get outdoors for recreation, especially kids and families. Our meetings are free and open to the public. Please join us.
