Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) to meet on Thursday, July 7

The next meeting of the Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, at Harrigan Centennial Hall. Please mark the time on your calendar and bring a friend.

Agenda items for the meeting include discussing a couple of new groups in Sitka that plan to offer outdoor programming (Sitka Outdoor Kids, the Hames Athletic and Wellness Center, the Sitka Conservation Society‘s new 4-H program), a movement to try and get a new playground built in Sitka, the “Have you been outdoors today? Get Out, Sitka!” media campaign, a new Tongass Children’s Forest designation and how Sitka might use that to increase outdoor programming, our future plans for this group, and more.

The Sitka Outdoor Recreation Coalition (Get Out, Sitka!) started as a community project from the 2010 Sitka Health Summit in October. Our mission is to encourage more Sitka residents to get outdoors for recreation, especially kids and families. Our meetings are free and open to the public. Please join us.
