The Sitka Sound Science Center will be a busy place for kids this summer. The center will offer six different summer camps for kids in grades 1-8.
These camps last one week each, and the sessions are three hours each day. The registration cost is $50 per camp. The camps will focus on water, land and sky, and will provide age-appropriate learning opportunities for the kids. The camps will feature many scientists and specialists from Sitka and elsewhere.
The Critter Camp (8:30-11:30 a.m. on June 18-22) and Water, Water, Everywhere! camp (8:30-11:30 a.m. on July 9-13) are for kids in grades 1-2. The Taming the Tongass (1-4 p.m. on June 18-22) and Flight (1-4 p.m. on July 16-20) camps are for grades 3-5. The Mini Making Waves camp (8:30-11:30 a.m. on July 16-20) and Aquarium Camp (8:30-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 6-10) are for grades 6-8.
