USDA Forest Service to host three birdwatching events this weekend in Sitka



Melissa Cady, a USDA Forest Service wildlife biologist from the Wrangell Ranger District, will present three birdwatching events on Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, in Sitka.

The weekend events open at 7 p.m. on Friday, when Melissa will give a presentation on “The Nature of Birdwatching” at Harrigan Centennial Hall.

At 7 a.m. on Saturday, Melissa will lead a two-hour guided bird walk at the Old Sitka Historic Site near Starrigavan Recreation Area.

The final event is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, when Melissa will give a presentation on “Warblers of Southeast Alaska” at Kettleson Memorial Library.
