Sitka Sound Science Center offers Fab Friday program for middle school students

Fab Friday, a science education program for middle-schoolers, will start on Jan. 20. What is Fab Friday? It’s a club hosted by the Sitka Sound Science Center since 2016.

This spring, Fab Friday is all about Bots, Bytes, and Bikes. Blatchley Middle School students will get to experience three very different hands-on modules this spring: robotics, photography, and bike maintenance.

Where? Sitka Sound Science Center (SSSC)

When? Friday afternoons, starting Jan. 20, excluding the weeks of Feb. 24, March 3, March 10, March 17, and April 21.

What Time?

  • Meet after school on Fridays at 2:15 p.m. in the Blatchley Commons
  • Travel from BMS to the adventuring location or SSSC in the van
  • Parent pick-up at the Science Center at 4 p.m.

How do I register? This club is free and snacks will be provided. Email Sarah Tobey at stobey@sitkascience.org to reserve your spot.

Attendance each week is expected, please email or call before Fab Friday if your student’s availability changes.

*If school is canceled, Fab Friday also will be canceled.
